Colonization

Colonization lets you capture territory from an AI-controlled town without waiting for normal war to be enabled. AI control and defender settings belong to individual towns, so a nation can contain both AI and player-controlled towns. All normal war mechanics apply to colonization.

Requirements

Before you can select an AI town:

  • You must be the leader or an officer of your town. Leadership from any town in the nation can start colonization.
  • The AI town must either border your nation or be within range of one of your nation's ports.

Normal war does not need to be enabled, and you do not need to declare war on the town's nation.

Starting a campaign

  1. Run /colonize.
  2. Select a nation containing an available AI town.
  3. Select one of its AI towns.
  4. Travel to that town and capture it with fences while fighting off defenders.

To clear your selection, run /colonize again and click the barrier in the nation menu. Clearing the selection prevents new flags, but any flag already in progress continues until it succeeds or is destroyed.
